Welcome to the Miracle v. Bullitt County Settlement Homepage.
An $800,000 settlement has been proposed in a class action lawsuit about alleged illegal strip-searches that took place when people were admitted to the Bullitt County Detention Center between March 2, 2004 and April 29, 2008, after their arrest for a qualifying non-violent, non-drug related misdemeanor offense.
The Court has certified this case as a class action and scheduled a hearing for November 17, 2008, to determine whether to approve the settlement as full, final and complete settlement of any and all claims that were made, or could have been made by the class. To qualify as a member of the class, individuals must submit a complete claim form, postmarked by February 17, 2009.
